Guest JOEB
Well done on your 8lb common fella Dont worry about the time it took to land, just relax when playing and it will go in the net when its nice and ready. As a carp angler with more than 20 years under my belt IMHO most people playfish to hard out of a sense of panic to get them in the net. If it took you an hour, then so be it............experience will teach you when to you need to play them hard. Most time big carp just plod around and can be landed pretty quick, but small carp will fly round like their arse is on fire and can take a lot longer. Keep angling and dont follow the crowd All the best, JOEB PS: If the 8lb common is your biggest so far, that makes it a big carp in my book Quote Link to post
mackem 26,544
Oddest carp fishing experience?Forget the finess of a 2-1/2tc rod or baitrunner, the lake was renting out uptider/multiplier combos as the biggest fish in there was a 300+kg arapima, packed with cats to 200lbs+ and carp to 200lbs+,the lake actually holds 10 IGF world records,a surreal experience but a great experience Quote Link to post
